Next...

Days six and seven (a whole week!): Notice the minute size... I am fully embracing the unfinished, "just work on something" philosophy. And starting to enjoy how feasible and non-threatening it is.

Day 5?

Thank you cards for my grandmothers.

Day Four: My new earrings.... they match a purse I made as a Christmas gift, which is maybe the best part. And they are big and obnoxious, which means that I love them.

And day five: some just for fun greeting cards.

Have a mentioned lately how wonderful this is... it's really pushed me to be intentional about it, even on the days when I don't feel in any way creative. Very good.

This is one of those it's-too-embarrassing-to-show-anyone. But for the sake of showing my progress and getting better and for the sake of getting used to embarrassment, here it is.

Day 3's creative pursuit: knitting

A scarf for my boyfriend. A hat soon to follow. But this project is taking forever! It was supposed to be for Christmas... but at this rate it is going to be a summer gift! However, it goes well with watching countless episodes of Lost

January 27

Day Three: Just a little fun with watercolors... I've loved them since I was a little girl and used them with q-tips instead of paintbrushes at grandma's house.

Some days are definitely going to be harder than others:)

Spring rolls and Fried Rice

Ok, I realise that this looks disgusting, but it was actually delicious! I forgot to take pictures while I was making them, so you'll have to imagine a happier, more-delicious-looking meal. This is me being creative in the realm of food this time.

Incomplete

So I have already discovered that the first thing I need to get rid of is my perfectionist tendencies and my need for a finished product. Today I'll work on that by posting this far from finished collage... I am not sure what I could add to make me happy with it, but I do know that it is in definite need of glue. A start for sure...

Danica's Day 1: drawing

Inspired by Amber's discovery of this website, and my friday night purchase of this book that was recommended to me years ago, comes our effort to create something new each day and to post our lovely creations on this blog to encourage and inspire each other's artistic pursuits. And be creative about what "being creative" even means!! It doesn't have to be art in the traditional sense. Just create something every day and post it.

Here is my first exercise from my drawing book - a self-portrait drawn without any instruction with the intention that I can look back on this drawing when I'm near the end of the book and see how far I've come, how much I've learned, and how much I've grown:
